It'd be great if X could aim his busters in 8 directions.

I disagree with this part... I don't think they should get any new powers that they've never had before.  Shooting in multi directions is what make Bass unique in those classic gen games.

Those both sound like pretty good ideas!

A new design and new behaviors could be used, and even specialized versions for different stages could work!


Perhaps a Maverick named Chronal Coyote, whose stage is littered with enemies pulled from past and future games? A miniboss could be the dragon from MegaMan 2's Wily Castle 1? It'd be a great nostalgia smash, but also be localized to one stage and Maverick so that the rest of the game can be used to explore new frontiers.

Speaking of such, It'd be great if X could aim his busters in 8 directions. That way you could add more puzzles and a new way to approach enemies.

About the 8 dir, yeah, that's Axl's job. And it has been improved too, btw :3
But that's why X gains new weapons, to reach enemies he couldn't before. That's actually the reason I was a bit reluctant to add Axl at first, but in Axl's case, I believe it can be balanced. But I don't think it would work with X :/

As for the nostalgia one, the ideas with Mets and Sniper Joes can work very well. However, I don't want to take that idea too far.

Also, that name is very specific. Has somebody already made him?

Nah, Chronal Coyote was just a creative burst I had for a minute there. Feel free to use him if you like.

There is one in a fan game actually... it's a rom hack of Mega Man 3 called MegaLion.  The boss is named Quartz Coyote.
