Introduction
« on: September 28, 2016, 06:54:35 PM »
"MegaMan X: Duality" is a MegaMan X fangame taking place after MegaMan X8, not only story wise, but also on the gameplay and graphics aspect.

This project is still in very early stages, and many core things are still getting decided. Even the title might change in the future.
MegaMan X8 has been my inspiration for a long time. I loved playing that game, but it always felt rushed and many things were missing. And that's what I'm hoping to do.
My aim is to make an upgraded MegaMan title the series deserves but has not seen yet.

Features

X, Zero and Axl are all playable, and it's possible that more will appear in the future.

The game's graphic style will be 3D, since the MegaMan series haven't taken much advantage of new technologies (or at least the released games...)

It is still way too early to talk about the story, but plenty of effort will go there as well.

This game is trying to be similar to previous titles in the series, while also adding more to them.

The Game

While I don't have much to say about it, what I do have is a demo. So why don't you try it out yourself?

Controls are explained in the link above.

Feedback is the best way to improve the game, so feel free to let me know what you think and how it can be improved!

Thank you! It's still too early to know what's gonna happen, but I'll keep that in mind ^^

Same here, I'd like to help with your project if you need help! :D

Well, if you know anybody who can make music, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I really hope your project really kicks off, especially since X is my favorite series, and this is the only one of the few X fangames to actually go forward with it's graphics, something I really look forward to experiencing when this enters a more advanced stage.

Music, the hardest thing to find. I know that feeling very well X'D
Sorry, I don't think I know anyone .-.
Well, if you really need help, I suppose I could try with Guitar Pro, but I can't promise much.

Thank you! :D I felt kinda bothered by the fact that most MMX fangames were going back to 16-bit, so I had to do something :P

16 Bit is life!!!

I've always preferred 64 bit. MegaMan X4 did that to me. Besides, if 16 bit was truly the best, then people wouldn't write essays online about how (albeit true) Xbox crushes PS4 because of like 3 pixels. Higher graphics allows for Higher detail and more in-depth environments, something that MegaMan really needs.

It might do you some good to use the X8 3d Models as Templates, or maybe the X7 ones. I hear there are some great ones available for fan and non-commercial use, like this one. http://gs-mantis.deviantart.com/art/Megaman-X-Model-Download-511226434I have some experience in the area, so if you need help with the modeling, I can always help. I'm not head of my team's graphics for naught, you know.

I love these graphics too! However I will never be able to make something nearly as good as that XD
I'm not great with sprites ^^;

Oh, I didn't know you were also modeling! That's nice OuO
That model looks good, but I'll need to make many custom ones regardless XD

Lol 16 bit is great, and the first games do a great job with weapons/armors/stages/music etc. I just feel like the X series is something that can receive upgrades much more easily than the classic ones, since only 3 out of 8 games have been in 16 bit.

Well, regardless if you use the one I linked to or upgrade yours, I'm very excited for this. X is life.
